The Golden State

Have you ever wondered why California is often referred to as “The Golden State”? Would you believe that it’s because people discovered gold here once?

I feel like I struck cheeseburger gold at Golden State. This place is a food purists heaven. The owners of Golden State try to showcase local ingredients and the best of California in a gastropub format. It works.

The Burger – $11

“The Burger” is a great choice, and it comes with a side. I recommend the fries or the jalapeno cole slaw. Yum.

Root Beer on Draft – $3

Okay, so I forgot to take a photo of the root beer. Do you really need to know what a glass of root beer looks like? Just trust me – root beer tastes way better on draft than from a bottle or can.

Craft Brews & Fine Wines

Golden State always has a rotating beer and wine menu, but the theme is consistent – high quality, craft, and exclusive. You won’t be disappointed.

I ate here a few weeks ago, and while it was a decent burger, I would hardly place it was one of the best. It tasted homemade, and I mean homemade by me, not a chef.

I definitely feel like burgers are a matter of personal preference, so I don’t blame you for having a different opinion. Who do you think has the best burger in LA?
