Komodo

The only thing I love more than food trucks are food trucks who have the sense to open a brick and mortar so people have a place to sit. Enter Komodo.

I work in the Beverly Hills area, so budget lunch spots are slim pickin’s. Luckily Komodo isn’t too far of a drive for a quick lunch break. They have several combos that make it a reasonably priced lunch. I usually do the Deadly Combo which includes 2 tacos, 1 order of fries and  a soda for $10.

Tacos – $3

I’ve tried all of the tacos at Komodo, so let me give you a rundown. The Komodo 2.0 is a solid choice for steak lovers. The soi taco is surprisingly good. I usually think tofu and soy are a waste of perfectly good meat, but if you fry anything and put some peanut sauce on it, I’ll probably eat it. Blazin’ shrimp is only for the ballsy eater – it’s really freaking spicy. The java pork is one of my personal favorites and it’s pretty light for a pork filled taco.

Truffle Fries or Garlic Fries – $5

The truffle fries are what keep me coming back to Komodo. These fries are big enough to share, but why would I do that?

Crabcakes with Curry Aioli – $6

A coworker of mine decided to mix it up one day and ordered the crab cakes. They are a great substitution if you ever get sick of the truffle fries (heh, like that would ever happen).
